Story

Honoring tradition with an elevated touch.

Nestled in the heart of French Quarter New Orleans, Succotash Nola is where classic Southern flavors meet modern culinary creativity. This casual fine-dining gem offers a fresh take on the city's rich food culture, blending deep-rooted traditions with a refined touch.

“I like to say we take comfort food and elevate it just a touch, give it a little polish without losing the soul and personality of the dish…and me!” says Exec Chef K, classically trained chef with 11 years in the industry but cooking her whole life. “I want people to taste the history in every bite, but also be surprised by something new.”

Our menu will offer signature dishes like our namesake Succotash, a vibrant medley of fresh local corn, lima beans, and smoky andouille sausage, paying homage to Southern roots with a rich, comforting depth. Our Shrimp and Grits takes a luxurious turn, featuring perfectly seared Gulf shrimp over creamy, stone-ground grits with a savory, flavor punch Creole sauce. And for an irresistible start to your meal, the Butter Poached Lobster Arancini crispy, golden Purple Rice risotto balls filled with melty cheese alongside a perfectly poached Lobster Tail topped with Caviar. While we are still experimenting which will change seasonally, you’re sure to enjoy every dish even if it’s only temporary. We really want to set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience!

Pair these standout dishes with expertly crafted cocktails, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a night of indulgence, whether you’re feeling casual or dressy. If you're a local or just passing through, Succotash Nola is a must-visit for anyone craving a taste of New Orleans with a modern twist!

About CHef K

Born and raised in the South, Chef K learned early that food is more than sustenance, it’s tradition, connection, and storytelling. Her journey wasn’t conventional. From championship athlete to a rising career in finance, she ultimately found her true calling back in the kitchen.

Trained under respected chefs and trusted to rebuild and lead professional kitchens, Chef K has honed a style rooted in Southern tradition yet elevated by global influence. With Succotash Nola, she brings her vision of “global Southern fusion” to life dishes that feel both familiar and bold, honoring her roots while celebrating flavors from around the world. She grew up with farm to table living, where her Papa planted by the moon, harvested from the land, and turned simple ingredients into meals that brought the family together. Fresh potatoes were dug from the yard, onions pulled straight from the earth, and fish caught from rivers at just the right time. Though she once turned up her nose at her grandmother’s Succotash, she later came to understand its meaning, a humble dish of resourcefulness, community, and the soul of Southern cooking. Succotash became a reminder that the best food doesn’t come from excess, but from honoring what you have and transforming it into something greater. It was only right that her dream restaurant honored this dish.

For Chef K, food is never just dining. It’s culture, memory, and connection. Every plate tells her story of resilience, passion, and the beauty of bringing people together.
